The Enkircher Monteneubel is one of the oldest vineyards in Enkirch. The vineyard is dominated by red slay and a cool climate. The grapes were macerated for 30 days with 100% of the stems, and the wine aged in used barriques for 24 unsulfured months, which gives it a straight and well-structured course. Bottled with 11.55% alcohol, this is "Pinot Noir for drivers," as Gernot Kollmann says in his bone-dry humor.

Coming from vines about 20 years old on reddish colored slate in the neighborhood of the Steffenerberg, Immich's 2014 Enkircher Monteneubel Spätburgunder exhibits a medium dark ruby-garnet color and a delicate yet intense and coolish, pretty "Burgundian" bouquet of perfectly ripe fruit, cassis, cherries, plums, herbs and crushed stones. Pure, crystalline and fresh on the palate, this is a full-bodied, vivacious and pure Pinot with generous, matured fruit and fine, slatey and phenolic grip.
