Château Beaucastel has long been considered one of the great wines of France. It is unanimously renowned for its balance, elegance and ageing potential. Beaucastel has an extraordinary terroir at the Northern end of the appellation with heavy exposure to the Mistral. All 13 varieties of the appellation have been organically grown here since the sixties.

Coudoulet de Beaucastel is a fantastic second wine. This rich Côtes du Rhône is a selection of wines from the adjoining Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet vineyards. These vineyards are located east of Route National No. 7, the highway which forms the boundary between the Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations at Beaucastel.

Tasting Notes:
(Robert Parker's rating: 92 points)
A terrific vintage for this wine... From a vineyard just outside the boundaries of the appellation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it's a remarkably consistent wine and always a solid value. Scents of sunbaked stones, black cherries and licorice appear on the nose, joined by hints of purple raspberries and dark chocolate, while the medium to full-bodied palate is lush and velvety, finishing long and complex.
